Bio Sketch
My career in clay started in New Jersey where I attended Monmouth University in Long Branch, studying under Arie Van Everdingen (BFA, MFA, Alfred University). In 1974, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts, cum laude. Upon graduating, I opened the Fairhaven Pottery Guild with then partner Ed O’Reilly, a studio, gallery and school, which we operated until 1979. In 1979, I relocated to Northfield, Massachusetts and opened the Tom White Pottery, where I continue to work to this day.
Over the years I have taught and given workshops at Penland School of Crafts, Northfield Mount Herman, Pratt Institute of Art, and the University of Massachusetts. I am a member of the Asparagus Valley Potter Guild, League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and the American Crafts Council. My work can be found in numerous galleries throughout the United States. I exhibit in solo and group invitational exhibits regularly. My work has been represented in Ceramics Monthly, Craft Horizons and the New England Crafts Connoisseur.
